Mist Eliminator Housing and coalescing Pad
The Mist eliminator pad sits in the housing at the top of a concurrent flow mass transfer tower. It is the final stage in most systems and acts as a last line of defense against sub-micron particulates in the case that they evaporate out of solution and make their way downstream of the packed bed. A pad is typically constructed of woven thermoplastic fibers such as PVDF, ETFE, or Polypropylene. the open pore area of the pad decreases as flow passes through to catch smaller and smaller particulate. Much like a filter on a traditional Home HVAC unit.
